2008 Summer Recap

It's amazing to stand back, in retrospect, and see what God did this summer and continues to do in preparation for our return in the coming months. From construction, On The Roadworship, relationship building, and passing out countless bags of rice and beans, we were truly blessed to be a part of the worshiping lives of all who participated. In each opportunity God presented to us, we were awed at the humble nature of people, and their willingness to give and receive, even when their seemed to be such great odds against them. A reocurring theme of the summer trips was that of hope and determination by the people of Central and South America.

We were fortunate enough to lead people into the various communities around San Isidro, Costa Rica and begin a foundation of Basecamp that will hopefully grow and flourish throughout the area. Basecamp's premise is that the community, and all of its residents, are the real driving force of the work to be done. Centralizing the efforts into one's own "back yard" and teaching all that they must love their neighbor enough to reach out to them.

As God calls us into our future, we pray for each soul He is leading us to, each family we will encounter, and every lesson along the way that He is going to teach us. We hope that you will be curious about this love the Creator has put in us, and that you will be so overwhelemed with a desire to serve, that you search for ways each day to impart the love of Christ with all that you meet. Please pray for us as we travel and that we will be victorious through Christ Jesus.
